The Weather Underground's WunderMap overlays weather data from personal weather stations and official National Weather Service stations on a Mapbox Map base and provides many interactive and dynamically updated weather and environmental layers.

This video shows how to use Chrome extension to download historical, daily weather data from Wunderground.com, given a selected station and date. The data is downloaded as individual CSV files, one per day. You can combine them into a single CSV file manually or using R / Unix / Python.

Terry Robbins took the organization's name from the lyrics of the Bob Dylan song "Subterranean Homesick Blues," which featured the lyrics "You don't need a weatherman to know which way the wind blows." The lyrics had been quoted at the bottom of an influential essay in the SDS newspaper, New Left Notes.
